I fell asleep in front of the computer. I had a dream. It was so sweet. So sweet I wish I didn't wake up.

bitin!

Something's wrong. Haha. I can't even think of a title for this entry.

I just got back from "work". So I took a cab and told the driver to take me to C____ Life Bldg. I accidentally told the driver to take me to I_____ Life Bldg which is on the same stretch of road. When I got there, I found out that the appointment isn't today.

I decided to walk back home. Like most walks, it was fun.

Did nothing the rest of the day but eat, watch a DVD and played GTA San Andreas. I plan to play more video games tonight. This is one boring weekend. Actually, I've been very very bored lately. I'm starting to get sick of doing the same shit. I need new activities.

P.S. my phone got fucked up the other week and I have no plans to get it replaced or fixed. I'm enjoying the freedom of having no phone.

Usually, I take a cab when moving between offices (Ortigas-Makati) because I get to take a short nap and the commute time has to be minimal. The short nap is unintentional. It happens when the driver is too quiet. Not my fault.

Aaaaanyway, I found out that it's hard to get a cab to bring you to Makati at midday. I was forced to walk from Emerald Ave. to Ortigas MRT station then from Ayala MRT station to Paseo de Roxas. Google Earth says it's a total of ~2.6KMs.

Walks like these remind me how much I love long walks by myself. I enjoy it as much as I enjoy long road trips with my friends. Long walks give me some time to think about a lot of things. The things I think about pop in at the following order: code, her, the future, code, the past, her then code. After a long walk, I miss HK again.

Change topic! This morning we joined Mizuno's Rush to Infinity. We took the 5KM course. It took me 41 minutes. It was fun. When you get tired, you regain energy as well-toned butts overtake you.

I want to do this again. Next stop, One La Salle! Photos by Jordee to follow.

Locked myself out of the server [again] and I can't sleep. May nahalong panty sa laundry ko. Napagtripan tuloy. Gusto ko maging ninja!

P.S. - Di ako ang nakaisip neto.

Yesterday, I had short bursts of conversations with our designer. I was idle and I was afraid that I’d fall asleep so I approached her, our designer, to get the slices for the new project (convo #1). She politely gave me the location of the slices.

I developed this habit where I change my DNS to OpenDNS whenever pages take forever to load. I also remove the local domain name which caused timeouts when I tried to access the file server. I finally gave up and rebooted to Windows where I was greeted with a login prompt. I didn’t have the username and password so I gladly walked to her desk to ask for them (convo #2).

It turned out that she didn’t have access to the file server either. Someone typed in the password for her. She asked if I had some sort of portable storage. What? Portable storage? Me? I’m the übergeek! I don’t bring “portable” storage with me.

Aaaaanyway, after I cluelessly scratched the back of my head, she offered to lend her thumb drive. She humbly admitted that it was broken while she showed the loose casing. I excused myself while she copied files to go back to my desk and reboot my computer [so I can show off Compiz Fusion (she uses a Mac)].

I was just about to restart my computer but I saw an option to install updates before shutting down. I chose to apply the updates because it was a long time since I updated my Windows installation. The second update (of 7) just started when she followed me to my desk. She preferred that she was the one who would plug in the thumb drive. And so we waited and watched the screen change between a status and a please-wait-while-your-computer-breaks-down message.

It was fun to watch for the first few seconds so I tried to start a conversation (convo #3). I asked if she used CSS. She nodded with a weak confirmation followed by an inquiry if we, the developers, also used tableless layouts. I proudly answered yes and asked if she placed the stylesheet in an external file. She replied with the filename of the CSS stylesheet.

I ran out of questions for her initial interrogation. I was going to start complaining about IE and cross-compatibility but that would flare off negative vibes and angst. I was about to come up with something pleasant to talk about that’s related to web design but she got tired of waiting for my computer to finish updating (damn you Bill Gates and your stupid software!!).

She showed me how to hold her thumb drive (with her ring and thumb fingers pressing on the chips; the way NOT to do it). I showed a non-verbal agreeing face while I hid my disappointment. She turned around then watched her slowly fade into the distance.

Less than a month ago, I lost my barely month-old phone. Last week, I misplaced my iPod's cable. Last weekend, a "friend" hit my car. The other night, I dropped my wallet while getting off the cab. Oh man. I just hope I don't get hit by a bus tomorrow.

The house at the other side of the street (another village) just discovered this new technology we call Karaoke. They've been having sing-alongs EVERY FUCKIN DAY. It pisses me off. I can't even drown out their off tune singing with my music.

Actually, I got so pissed off yesterday I pumped up all our speakers in the house at full blast. I thought they got the message. I'm tempted to go there and cut off their power.

Somebody's going to get an egged house really soon.

I hate Starrbucks. I'm going to lose it if we have another meeting there. Even their pastry sucks.

Ugh. I don't feel so good. I have to look for a new quiet place to have meetings. Soon.
